Director of Communications
August 2006 to January 2010

When I first arrived at AMG in August 2006, I noticed a dwindling interest in Bob Mizer’s early black and white photography and a serious lack of knowledge about his later color wokrs. For more than half a century, publishers, collectors, and fans largely ignored these vibrant and provocative color stills, despite their enormous presence in the AMG archives — more than half of the estimated 1 million individual photographs are 35mm color slides. To draw attention to this segment of the collection, I generated a multi-tiered, three-year plan, which culminated in multiple magazine spreads, the publication of Bob’s World: The Life and Boys of AMG’s Bob Mizer, a solo-show at Exile Berlin, and much more.

Mizer’s work has since been shown at MOCA LA, Invisible Exports, Western Project, and New York University.

Below are just a few of the highlights.
